family camping

No one wants to be a ‘bad’ camper, but it happens without concern.  You have picked your site and are getting cozy by the fire, the last thing you want is to be bothered, or worse, to be a bother!  As a family, review these camping manners and everyone will be better for it.

Camping P’s & Q’s:

  • RESPECT every sites privacy.  Do not walk or ride through campsites that are not part of your group.  Please watch that children follow this.
  • Children should be supervised!  We do have a small and quiet park but children need guidance.  Parents are responsible for their children’s actions.
  • Music and voices should not carry throughout the park.  Even outside of quiet time (10pm – 7am).  Remember people are enjoying a relaxing vacation!
  • No smoking in any public areas or buildings.  Be considerate of people and children around you.
  • Leave it like you found it.  Please keep your site tidy, trash left out will attract animals.  Do not burn trash or put trash in fire pits.
  • Please do not move fire pits.  Bring any location concerns to the camp office.
  • Nature is sensitive; do not cut or damage any tree, dead or live.  Try to be a green camper!
  • Do NOT transport firewood, it is a Michigan law!  Stop the spread of Ash Borer and other lethal pests.  We sell firewood in our camp office and will even deliver it to your site for you.  Any leftover wood should be left behind or given to other campers.
  • Speed limit on the park roads is only 5 miles per hour, please be cautious of  children playing.
  •  Our restroom facilities are used by many, please keep clean for others to use comfortably too.  Not for washing dishes.  Do not flush anything down the toilet unless it is sparingly used toilet paper.  We provide sanitary waste baskets in all our stalls.  Please bring any concerns to our attention immediately.
  • Only use camping toilet paper in your trailer.  Do not flush anything other than appropriate paper.  No one wants a clogged septic system!
  • If you are arriving after dark please be considerate of fellow campers.  Your lights should be turned down, wait until morning to unload everything.
  • Do not leave pets unattended at your site.  This is the most common time for a dog to bark.  There is a shady area behind the pool, dogs can be tied there.
  • Clean up after your pet, we provide doggie bags at the camp office.
  • Take lots of pictures!  You will definitely want to show them off and reminisce for years to come!  We love it if you share them with us on Facebook too.

Consider requesting specific areas of the campground to stay in when you reserve your site.  We do our best to accommodate your desires and offer sites that back up to the playground, pond or pool area.  While our pull through sites offer a quieter area of the park.

Also, if you have any concerns or questions feel free to stop in the office and talk to us about it.  We want everyone to have a relaxing vacation and try our best to provide that.  Even in the middle of the night campers can always call for help.
