Southeast Michigan Family Camping Activities
Camping in Michigan is different than year-round camping elsewhere in the United States. Our campers enjoy a wide variety of activities Spring, Summer and Fall, right within our family-friendly campground, plus we are located close to some favorite attractions in Southeastern Michigan.
Some people just enjoy the camping experience, while others look for a campground that has a lot of fun, family-friendly activities to help pass the time. Indian Creek Camp and Conference Center offers the best of both worlds – a quiet camping atmosphere, and popular activities for many ages! We are always working hard to provide family camping at its best, and this year we are excited to offer an outstanding line up of events. Enjoy finding your favorite activities and camp often!
RC Field of Dreams – Dirt RC Race Track and Crawling Course Open to campers and registered guests. Free to use, bring your own Remote Controlled vehicles. RC Fans rejoice – this race course features tight turns, jumps and a bridge. Join us on RC RACE WEEKEND to enter the many competitions designed for racers of all ages. Spectators are welcome!
Meet our Llamas – proud animals who have their own personality! Many children love watching them in the field near the back of the campground. Get some ‘llama gold’ from the camp store and you can have them eating out of the palm of your hand! Home of the Llamapalooza! An annual Spring event that gives you the opportunity to walk a llama and get to know them close up. Don’t forget an extra bag for our spirited dwarf goats! They are always dancing around and putting on a show for the visitors.
Fishing Pond – You may fish for small mouth bass and bluegill in our man-made ponds; fishing is catch-and-release only. We have fishing derbies on select weekends to see who can get the biggest fish. The largest bass caught so far was 24 inches long! Our man-made ponds are 10 to 25 feet deep, with the large pond about 1 acre in size. Enjoy a kayak or paddle boat ride on this pond, but please remember that parents must sign them out at the camp office first and life jackets are required to use the boating equipment.
Planned Activities – From the standard Movie Night with Popcorn to a friendly Family Game Night, our camping experience will offer more fun than ever! The 2025 season boasts new Rec Hall Activities for families of all ages to enjoy every night of the week, June-August! Weekends feature exciting themes packed full of activities including: Karaoke Night and Nature Crafting, with Candy Bar BINGO, Foam Party Slip-N-Slide, Live Bands and more coming your way. See our Calendar to find out what is happening during your stay. (Please note: The Rec Hall is closed after Labor Day Weekend for Halloween Preparations.)

All adventures can be reserved online using our “Adventure Reservations” tab. Click on that tab for further adventure details.
